How to annotate a PDF

  1. Add your PDF by dropping it in the box above or tapping to browse.
  2. Choose a tool from the toolbar. Type text anywhere, drag out a box, oval, line, or arrow, sketch freehand, cover content with a white box, or stamp an image like a logo or signature. Pick a color and size, and drag to move or resize anything you add.
  3. Tap Save and download to get an annotated PDF. Your marks are baked in as sharp vector content and the original text stays selectable.

FAQs about Annotate PDF

Do my files get uploaded?

No. Your PDF is annotated right here on your own device, inside the browser. It never leaves your computer, so nothing private is sent anywhere.

What can I add to my PDF?

Type text anywhere, draw rectangles, ovals, lines, and arrows, sketch freehand, cover things with a white box, and stamp images like a logo or a photo of your signature. Move, resize, recolor, or delete anything before you save.

Does it keep the original text selectable?

Yes. Annotations are drawn as real vector content on top of your pages, so the PDF stays crisp and the underlying text is still selectable and searchable.

Can I change the color or size?

Yes. Pick a color and a line or text size from the toolbar. Change it before you draw, or select something you already added and restyle it.

Can I undo a mistake?

Yes. Undo and redo are unlimited, so experiment freely. You can also clear everything and start over.

Will it work on a phone?

Yes. The editor is touch friendly, so you can draw, type, and stamp on a phone or tablet just as easily as on a desktop.

Is it free?

Yes. Annotate as many PDFs as you want, with no sign-up and no watermarks.
