Crop PDF

Yes. Many free PDF sites upload your file to their own server to do the work. This tool does not. Your PDF is read and cropped inside your browser. It is never uploaded, stored, or seen by anyone else. That makes it a safe choice for contracts, statements, scans, and anything else you would rather keep off a stranger's server.

It also means there is nothing to delete afterwards. There is no account and no queue. No copy of your file sits on a server waiting to expire, because the file was never sent anywhere.

Turn on Crop in the toolbar, then drag on the page to draw the area you want to keep. A box with handles appears. A small readout shows its size as you move, so you can line it up by eye. Prefer exact numbers? Type how much to trim from the top, right, bottom, and left in the side panel. Switch the unit between points, pixels, centimeters, inches, or percent. The box and the numbers stay in step. So you can drag first, then fine tune the exact values.

Typing the numbers is the better route when you need to trim PDF margins to an exact size. Scanned pages usually need the same few millimetres off each edge. A document you plan to print often needs even crop margins on all four sides. Percent helps when the pages are not all the same size. Ten percent off the top means ten percent of whichever page you are on, not a fixed measurement.

Some files need the same trim on every page. Others need one page handled on its own. Move to any page and set its own crop, so a wide cover and a plain body page can each get what they need. When one crop suits the whole file, set it once and tap Apply to all. You can reset a single page, or the whole document, if you change your mind.

Crop PDF pages this way and nothing else in the document moves. The page order, the page count, and the text all stay where they were. A cropped file still opens, prints, and searches the same as before.

Add a single PDF and it opens in the editor for a careful crop. Add two or more and the same crop goes on every file. You can then download them all as one ZIP. Files are handled one at a time, so even a large batch stays light on memory. Your files still never leave your device.

Bulk crop PDF files when a whole stack came off the same scanner. It helps just as much when a set of exports all carry the same header band. Set the margins once, check the count in the panel, and let it work down the list. There is no limit on how many files you add. The only limit is your device memory.

If a PDF opens on your device without asking for a password, it will load and crop here without any extra steps. Cropping is one of the gentler things you can do to a PDF. Here is what moves and what does not:

• Full quality. Text stays sharp and selectable. Images keep their original resolution, because nothing is re-saved or squeezed.
• Page count, page order, and clickable links all stay as they were.
• Fillable form fields keep working. We cropped a form holding 7 named fields and all 7 were still fillable in the cropped copy.
• The new visible page area is written into the file. Every reader and printer follows your crop.
• The trimmed margins are hidden, not deleted. That content is still inside the file.
• File size barely drops, because nothing is thrown away. Trim two inches off all four edges of a page and it gets about three percent smaller. Run the file through Compress PDF if you need it smaller.

This one catches people out, and it is true of every crop tool. A crop moves the page edge inward, so your reader shows only the area you chose. The text and images outside that edge are still in the file. Anyone who opens it in an editor can pull the page edge back out and read them. Trim two inches off every side of a page here and all of its words are still in the file.

So crop freely to tidy margins, cut a scanner shadow, or fit a page to a screen. Do not use it to hide an address, a signature, or a price. For that, Redact PDF takes the content out. Remove Pages is the right choice when a whole page has to go.

Nearly every surprise comes down to one of four things. First, the crop landed on one page only, because Apply to all was not used. That is easy to miss in a long document. Second, the pages are not all the same size. A fixed margin then trims a lot from a small page and barely touches a large one, so percent is the safer unit. Third, the page is a scan that sits crooked. Straighten it with Rotate PDF first and the crop lands where you expect. Fourth, your printer is adding its own margin on top of the crop. That is a print setting, not something in the file.

If the numbers just need another pass, add the file again and set fresh margins. There is nothing to undo on a server and no version to clean up. Re-cropping costs you a few seconds.
