Editing existing text, and where it works best
You can click into the words on a page and change them in place. Text editing works best on digital PDFs, the kind exported from a word processor or design app, where the text is real text. On a scanned PDF the page is just a picture, so there are no words to edit until you run OCR PDF first. And on pages with very intricate layouts, a big edit can sometimes nudge nearby text. When in doubt, make the change and check the result before you save.
Find and replace across the document
Need to fix a name, a date, or a term that appears in many places? Open Find & replace, search for it, and replace every instance in one step, instead of hunting through the file by hand. It is the fastest way to update boilerplate, correct a typo that repeats, or swap a placeholder for the real value, and it works on the real text in digital PDFs.
