Watermark PDF

Put a watermark on PDF pages in seconds. Type your text or upload a logo, set the size, color, opacity and angle, then download. Stamp every page or just a range, and watermark PDF documents in bulk. It all runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

100% private. Your files are processed entirely in your browser and never uploaded.

Why watermark your PDF with frisqoo

The stamp is drawn inside your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to a server.

Text or your logo

Stamp words like CONFIDENTIAL, or upload an image and use that instead.

You set the look

Font, color, size, opacity and angle. Make it faint, or make it loud.

One stamp or tiled

Sit it once in the middle, or repeat it across the whole page.

Any device

Runs in any modern browser on phone, tablet or computer. Nothing to install.

How to watermark a PDF

  1. Add your PDF by dropping it in the box above, or add several at once, then type your watermark text.
  2. Set the size, color, opacity and angle so the stamp looks the way you want.
  3. Tap Apply watermark, then download. One file saves on its own. Several are stamped together, to save one by one or all as a ZIP.

Everything runs on your device, so it is fast and your files stay private, even with no internet once the page has loaded.

Is it safe to watermark PDF files here?

Yes. Your file is opened and stamped by your own browser. It is never uploaded, never stored and never logged. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.

That matters for the files people usually stamp, because contracts, offers and early drafts hold private details. Here you can watermark PDF documents without handing them to a stranger. It is free, there is no sign-up, and there is no page limit.

Set the text, font, color and strength

You can insert a watermark in PDF pages in two steps: type the words, then tune how they look. CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, a company name or a date all work well.

The stamp starts as red text, leaning at 45 degrees, at 6 percent of the page and 30 percent opacity, and every part of that is yours to change.

  • Font. A drop-down of fonts, including ones that cover Arabic, Korean and Chinese, so non-Latin words stamp cleanly.
  • Color. Pick a color, or paste a hex code such as #1a73e8.
  • Size. 2 to 16 percent of the page, so the stamp grows with the paper.
  • Opacity. 5 to 100 percent. Low is a faint background mark. High is a bold stamp.
  • Rotation. Anywhere from -90 to 90 degrees. Zero sits flat across the page.
  • Layout. One stamp in the middle, or tiled so it repeats over the page.

The page preview updates as you drag each slider, so you can see your custom watermark before you save anything.

Use a logo for an image watermark

Text is not your only choice. Switch Type from Text to Image, then tap Upload image and pick a picture from your device, and your logo is placed the same way the words would be.

Scale sets how wide the image sits on the page and starts at 40 percent. Opacity, rotation, layout and the page range all still apply. A logo with a see-through background sits over a page most cleanly, since a white box around it will hide part of the text.

The picture is embedded in the file, so a stamped copy is a little larger rather than smaller. We stamped a 41 KB page with a 512 pixel logo and it came back at 47 KB, with the see-through background still see-through.

Stamp every page, or only the pages you pick

Leave the Pages box empty and every page is stamped, or type a range like 1-3,5 and only those pages get the mark.

We tested that on a 7 page file with 1-2 in the box, and only the first two pages came back stamped. The other five were untouched, pixel for pixel, which helps when a cover page or a signature page needs to stay clean.

Watermark several PDFs at once

Add one PDF and it opens in the editor, but add two or more and you get a bulk panel instead. Set the text, size, opacity, angle and layout once, and every file is stamped the same way. That is the fast way to bulk watermark PDF files for a whole folder of documents.

Files are handled one at a time, so even a large batch stays light on memory. Any file that cannot be read is skipped, and the rest still finish. Download each stamped file on its own, or take them all as one ZIP.

Watermarking password-protected PDFs

If a PDF opens on your device without asking for a password, it will load and get stamped here without any extra steps. If a file needs a password just to open it, frisqoo shows a small unlock box right here, you type the password, and the file is unlocked on your device so you can watermark it. Your password is used in your browser and never leaves your device. A PDF that only limits printing or copying, rather than opening, opens straight away with no prompt at all.

What is kept, and what changes

  • Your text and images stay as they were. The stamp goes on top as a new layer.
  • Page count, page size and page order all stay the same.
  • Clickable links survive. A 7 page file with 206 links came back with all 206.
  • Form fields survive. A fillable form with 7 named fields came back with all 7 still in place.
  • The stamp cannot be peeled off later, because it becomes part of the saved page.
  • File size barely moves. The file is written out fresh, so it often lands a little smaller: a 377 KB file came back at 307 KB.

If you do need a smaller file after stamping, run it through Compress PDF.

A watermark labels a file, it does not lock it

A stamp tells people how to treat a document, but it does not stop them. Anyone who opens the file can still read every word, copy the text and print the pages. The words under the stamp are not hidden and not removed.

When you need real limits, reach for a different tool. Protect PDF sets a password and controls what a reader may do. Redact PDF takes private content out of the file for good. A watermark works well next to those, not in place of them.

This tool only adds a stamp, and it cannot take a watermark off a PDF that already has one. The Remove watermark button clears the stamp you just set up, before you save. After you download, the mark is baked in, so keep your clean original.

Why does my watermark look wrong?

Four things explain almost every case.

First, opacity. It starts at 30 percent, which is meant to be faint, so raise it if you want the stamp to shout. Second, size. Size is a percent of the page, so 6 percent looks smaller on a slide than on A4. Third, the Pages box. If a range is in there, the other pages stay clean on purpose. Fourth, color. Red on a dark scan is hard to read, so switch to a light color for dark pages.

A tiled layout can also crowd a busy page, so drop the size or the opacity and it settles down.

Watermark, or use another tool?

Some jobs look like a watermark but are really something else.

  • For page numbers or a running header, use Page numbers.
  • To place text or an image on one spot of one page, use Edit PDF.
  • To black out private details for good, use Redact PDF.
  • To set an open password, use Protect PDF.
  • To stamp one file instead of many, join them first with Merge PDF.

Can I watermark a PDF on my phone?

Yes. The tool runs in your phone browser, just as it does on a laptop. Tap the box, pick a file from your phone or a cloud drive, and set your stamp. There is nothing to install and no account to make. The work happens on the phone itself, so it keeps going even with no signal once the page has loaded.

Common ways people use Watermark PDF

  • Add a CONFIDENTIAL watermark to PDF copies before sending them out.
  • Put a DRAFT stamp for PDF proposals that are still under review.
  • Lay a company name or a date across every page of a report.
  • Drop a logo on a quote so it looks like it came from you.
  • Mark a whole batch of files the same way in one pass.
  • Label copies so you can tell two versions apart at a glance.

FAQs about Watermark PDF

Are my files uploaded to add a watermark?

No. The stamp is drawn inside your browser, on your own device, so nothing is sent to a server and nothing is stored. Close the tab and no copy is left behind.

How do I watermark a PDF file?

Add your PDF, type the words you want, then tap Apply watermark and download. That is the whole job. You can change the font, color, size, opacity and angle first, and you can pick which pages get the stamp.

Can I use my logo instead of text?

Yes. Set Type to Image and upload a picture, then use Scale to set how wide the logo sits on the page, starting at 40 percent. Opacity, angle, layout and page range work the same as they do for text.

Can I stamp only some pages?

Yes. Leave the Pages box empty and every page gets the stamp, or type something like 1-3,5 and only those pages are stamped. We tested a 7 page file with 1-2 set, and only the first two pages changed.

What do the size and opacity numbers mean?

Size is a percent of the page, from 2 to 16, so the stamp grows with the paper. Opacity runs from 5 to 100 percent and starts at 30 percent, which is a light mark you can read through. Raise it for a bold stamp.

Can I repeat the watermark across the page?

Yes. Set Layout to Tiled and the stamp repeats over the whole page instead of sitting once in the middle. On a busy page, drop the size or the opacity so the text underneath stays readable.

Can I watermark several PDFs at once?

Yes. Add two or more files and you get a bulk panel, then set the stamp once and every file is marked the same way. Files are handled one at a time, so a large batch stays light on memory. Download each file on its own, or take them all as frisqoo_watermarked.zip.

Does it change my original content?

No. The stamp is drawn on top as a new layer. Your text and images are left as they were, and nothing under the stamp is edited or removed.

Do links and form fields still work?

Yes, we checked both. A 7 page file with 206 clickable links came back with all 206. A fillable form with 7 named fields came back with all 7 still in place.

Can I remove a watermark later?

Not from here. This tool adds a stamp, it does not take one off a file that already has one. The Remove watermark button clears the stamp you just set up, before you save. Once the file is downloaded the stamp is part of the page, so keep your clean original.

Is a watermark the same as protecting a file?

No. A watermark labels a document, it does not lock it. Anyone who opens the file can still read, copy and print it. Use Protect PDF for a password, or Redact PDF to take private details out for good.

Can I watermark a PDF on my phone?

Yes. It runs in your phone browser, the same as on a laptop. Tap the box, pick a file from your phone or a cloud drive, and set your stamp. There is nothing to install.

Can I watermark a password-protected PDF?

Yes. If a file needs a password just to open it, frisqoo asks for that password right here, unlocks it on your device, and carries on. Your password is used in your browser and never leaves your device. Files that only restrict printing or copying work with no prompt at all. The one thing no tool can do is recover a password you do not know.

Is Watermark PDF free?

Yes. Watermark PDF free, with no sign-up, no page limit and no stamp from us on your file. It works the same on phones, tablets and computers in any modern browser.
